Jacqueline Fernandez Opposite Pawan Kalyan in Telugu Period Drama Set in 1870 – Read on | Earth Indian

Almost two years after she was seen in Race 3 alongside Salman Khan, actor Jacqueline Fernandez seems to have signed a new film with a full-fledged role for her. The actor was seen in a special dance number in Saaho last year and opposite Sushant Singh Rajput in the Netflix film Drive, but she has been away from the big screen for a while now. However, things are changing for Jacqueline. A report in Mumbai Mirror suggests that Jacqueline might have just bagged a Pan-India film opposite Pawan Kalyan.

As mentioned in the report, the film is originally being made in Telugu and is a period drama set in 1870. The actor has already made several visits to Hyderabad to finalise the logistics and she’s finally on board. The shooting of this yet-to-be-titled period drama is expected to begin as soon as the coronavirus lockdown is over in the country. Pawan, however, had begun filming his parts back in February this year.

The report quoted a source close to Jacqueline saying the actor is looking out to explore more and this film is the best opportunity after the break. “It is a pan-India film set in 1870 and will release in multiple languages. Jacqueline is looking to explore newer avenues and this is a step forward in that direction. She flew down to Hyderabad several times this year to meet her director and costar,” the source said.

The film is expected to be shot on Hyderabad on lavish sets and requires a lot of special effect work later. Jacqueline’s character belongs to the 1870s, therefore, she will be seen in a different avatar wearing heavy vintage jewellery and outfits.
