Heartwarming! Muslims Help Cremate Hindu Neighbour As Relatives Fail To Make It Amid Lockdown | Watch | Earth Indian

New Delhi: In an act of communal harmony, a group of Muslim youth in Bulandshahr, came together to perform the last rites of a Hindu man who died on Saturday.

73-year-old Ravi Shankar, who was battling cancer died on Saturday but his relatives couldn’t make it to the funeral due to the ongoing coronavirus lockdown.

It is then that his Muslim neighbours stepped up in and came forward to help the family with the last rites. They not only took out the ‘antim-Yatra’ while chanting ‘Ram-Nam Satya Hai’, but also performed the last rites of Ravi Shankar with proper Hindu rituals.

“Ravi Shankar was our neighbour and had expired two days back, after which we decided to help his family. All the Muslims from the locality gathered and brought his body for cremation. After all, humanity is above anything else,” one of the neighbours, Mohammad Zubair said.

Further, they have also promised the grieving family of all possible help during the lockdown period.

Pramod, the son of the deceased, who was overwhelmed by this gesture, said that he always remain indebted to his Muslim neighbours who stood by them in this hour of crisis.

The incident touched many people’s hearts after a video of the funeral procession was shared on Twitter:
