Thief Falls Asleep On the Sofa After Breaking Into House in Karnataka, Owner Wakes Him With Stick | Earth Indian

Mangaluru: In a hilarious incident, a seemingly unprofessional thief fell asleep after breaking into a house in Dakshina Kannada district of Karnataka. The incident happened on February 25, when the thief broke into Sudharshan’s house by removing the tiles of his roof.

However, instead of stealing things, he fell asleep on the sofa after grabbing a bunch of keys kept near the TV stand. He kept enjoying the sweet slumber until he was rudely awakened by the owner of the house who hit him with a stick.

He was later handed over to the police. Sudarshan, in his statement to the police, said that he was shocked to see the ceiling tiles missing and to find an unknown person fast asleep on the sofa.

“It appears he was too inebriated and fell asleep. We are investigating whether he is linked to other cases of theft reported in the area”, a senior police official told The News Minute.

The thief has been identified as Anil Sahani, a native of Bihar’s Majipur district. A case has been registered in the Uppinangady police station charging Anil with the attempt of theft.
