Student Of The Year 2 Week 1 Box Office Collection: Tiger Shroff’s Film Earns Rs 57.90 cr | Earth Indian
Actor Tiger Shroff‘s latest release Student Of The Year 2 earned Rs 4.02 crore on Thursday, taking its first week total to Rs 57.90 crore. The film has underperformed at the Box Office and that’s visible in its collection. After seven days of its release, the Punit Malhotra-directorial hasn’t even fetched Rs 60 crore at the ticket window which is not how Tiger Shroff films usually perform. Also considering the SOTY brand associated with the film, the collections of SOTY 2 are quite lower than expected.
The Dharma Productions film opened to Rs 12.06 crore at the Box Office but failed to generate any significant business from Monday. IPL Final that happened on Sunday and polling in some parts of the country also affected its Box Office run. Theatres were shut in many cities due to the sixth phase of voting on Sunday. The week 1 Box Office breakup of Student Of The Year 2 stands as:
Friday: Rs 12.06 cr
Saturday: Rs 14.02 cr
Sunday: Rs 12.75 cr
Monday: Rs 5.52 cr
Tuesday: Rs 5.02 cr
Wednesday: Rs 4.51 cr
Thursday: Rs 4.02 cr
Total: Rs 57.90 cr
The first-week collection of this Ananya Panday and Tara Sutaria-directorial is lower than what the Baaghi series earned for Tiger Shroff in its week 1. While Baaghi, that released in the year 2016, collected Rs 59.72 cr, Baaghi 2 (2018) went on to earn Rs 112.85 crore. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh expressed his disappointment over the latest Box Office figures of Student Of The Year 2. He wrote on Twitter, “#StudentOfTheYear2 underperforms… Biz was steady on weekdays, but *Week 1* total should’ve been much, much higher thanks to Tiger’s star power, #SOTY franchise and 3000+ screen count… In fact, #SOTY2 *Week 1* is lower than Tiger’s #Baaghi [2016].” (sic)

The collection of the film is not likely to improve now. More because two new films – De De Pyaar De and John Wick have opened to comparatively good reviews this week.
