How Can Mayawati Comment on Modi When She Herself is Unmarried: Union Min Ramdas Athawale | Earth Indian

New Delhi: Union minister Ramdas Athawale made a startling comment on former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati on Friday when he questioned her impunity to point a finger at the PM’s marital status when she herself isn’t married.

Speaking to news agency ANI, Athawale said, “Mayawati is making remarks about Modi Ji & his wife. She (Mayawati) is not married, she doesn’t know what a family is, had she been married she would have known how to handle a husband. We respect Mayawati, she should not make such statements.”

His statement came in response to the BSP chief’s recent remarks made at a press conference on May 12 when said fired, “Mayawati, BSP: Narendra Modi was silent on Alwar gangrape case. He’s trying to play dirty politics over it. So that in the elections his party can be benefited. It is extremely shamefully. How can he respect others’ sisters& wives when he has left his own wife for political gains?”

Furthering her attack on the Prime Minister, Mayawati added that wives of party workers get scared when they hear that their husbands are meeting Modi. They fear to let them fraternise with the PM lest he convinces them to abandon their wives like he did to his.

Chief of the Republican Party of India and a member of the BJP-led NDA, Ramdas Athawale said that he respects Mayawati and therefore she should refrain from making such statements.
